Spring

Antique dealers and brocante specialists display their treasures in April
Organised by the Shopkeepers', Craftsmen, Artists' and Residents' Association of old Antibes, the Old Antibes Antique Fair is one of the largest of its kind in Europe.
Some 60,000 visitors, decorators, collectors and experts in the field, attend this event each year, situated in a specially constructed marquee 60,000 square metres large, next to the port and ramparts in the heart of the old town. They are drawn by the high quality furniture, objets d'art and paintings on display.
The past and the present
The Antique Fair of old Antibes owes its reputation for quality and fairness to its founder, Jean Gismondi, who wanted this event to contain work and styles from all periods. Quality and authenticity are the keynotes at the Fair, which attracts antique lovers of all types and nationalities.
Something for everyone
Throughout the event, three experts are available to visitors. Their role is to guarantee the definition and description of objects brought to them, but they can in no way intervene in the matter of pricing.
The Fair has a multitude of beautiful objects on show that always evoke much admiration. There are well-known styles and pieces as well as more obscure ones.
The many stands in the area are a veritable feast for the eyes of antique lovers and collectors alike, with exhibits to suit all pockets.

Revelations in April take the stage in July
As part of the International Jazz Festival in July, the municipality stages “Jazz revelations”, a wide-ranging event which discovers and promotes new talent in the jazz world.

Each year, selected musicians compete in different categories: Rhythm and blues, Jazz vocal and Jazz Instrumental. They perform before a jury of professionals as well as before an audience. The winner of each category wins a prize, and the grand winner becomes Revelation 2004.

This title ensures that the musician performs on stage in the Pinède in July in “Jazz in Juan”. A wonderful opportunity, for it was here that John Coltrane's career took off and Ray Charles made his first appearance in Europe.
