Jean Leonetti re-elected in the first round of municipal elections




The municipal elections took place in Antibes on 9 March. With a voter turn-out of 56.53%, Jean Leonetti, incumbent Mayor and head of the list “Together for the future of Antibes Juan-les-Pins”, was re-elected in the first round with 59.31% of the votes.


Forty new elected representatives from this list are to take their place in the council chambers in Saint Esprit Chapel, as well as four elected representatives from the “Union for Antibes Juan-les-Pins” list (who received 15.91% of votes at the municipal elections), three elected representatives from the “Left and Ecologically Sound Antibes” list (13.10% of votes) and 2 elected representatives from the “Antibes Juan-les-Pins for all” list (11.67% of votes) who together form the new town assembly for the municipal council for the next six years.

The cantonal elections took place at the same time for Antibes-Biot, which are renewed in 2008. Voter turn-out was 54.51% and Eric Pauget was also elected in the first round with a majority of 58% of votes. Also in the municipal majority, he takes his place on the Regional Council for a mandate of six years.
