Pain, Amour et Chocolat : une manifestation savoureuse

The second year of Bread, Love and Chocolate, organised by the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Nice Sophia Antipolis Côte d’Azur takes place from 8 to 10 February at Pré aux Pecheurs car park.

An ancient craft and food of the gods

Bread is possibly the most symbolic food of French culture. It is an important part of all meals in France and the majority of bakers and pastry chefs make the products on the premises using traditional master bakers’ recipes and craft. Bakeries are the most frequented of small shops by customers in the area.
Piedmont is the ancestral home of chocolate. Production is an ancient art and its great success in due in part to its alliance with the “Tonda Gentile”, the hazelnut from Langhe which is protected by the IGP label, and where whipped cream was first produced to make the famous cream filling “gianduja”.

Two traditionally produced and delicious products at this mouth-watering salon

The finest bakers and pastry chefs from France and Italy attend this three-day event from 8.00 to 19.00 and showcase their talent and profound knowledge of their craft, offering tastings of their products.

There are many events and demonstrations at this wonderful fair with lectures on bread and other excellent products, tastings, taste workshops for children and films with such mouth-watering titles as “Chocolat” by Lasse Hallstrom and “Pane, Amore e Fantasia” by Luigi Comencini.

A new sort of bread

Among the innovations on show this year by the National Union of Bakers and Pastry Chefs is the Riviera Fougasse, a bread specially invented for the salon, which is sure to be as great a success as the Riviera Chocolate in 2007.
In this town of Peynet’s lovers, the salon is a wonderful opportunity to find a sweet gift to give your loved one on Valentine’s Day.
